This week I have seen several good posts.

Here is a yummy looking, non-vegetarian bacon cup recipe.  It looks so pretty.  This is one Mr. Right and I are sure to try.  You have got to check it out.

Tammy has a delicious looking Cream Cheese Browine.  That would certainly hit the spot right about now.

When I read this funny post about a washcloth to my husband, he almost spit his drink out of his nose.

I cannot believe how rude and self-absorbed some people can be.  Read this recap of one of Kailani’s recent flights back to Hawaii and how rude these two brats were.  While you are there, be sure to check out here giveaway for Mommy Tags jewelry.

Speaking of giveaways, Contest Blogger is giving away $100 a month every month.  All you have to do to be eligible to win is to post a link to their site on your blog.  Then you are eligible every month – for life.  Pretty cool, eh?

Finally, I really enjoyed Michelle at Scribbit’s post about the things she misses in Alaska.  It gave me such a sense of what I take for granted living in a metropolitan area compared to other parts of the country.

Before giving you this week’s Friday Feast, I want to let you know I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Party sponsored by 5 Minutes for Mom.  Click on over to visit JenuineJen’s Blog Party and let me know what you think.
And now, on with the feast.

If you could be any current celebrity for one whole week, who would you want to be?
I do not think I could be any current celebrity for one whole week, I really do not envy their lives.  I guess if I had to choose, I would select Heather Locklear.  She seems fairly down to earth.

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you enjoy talking on the phone?
On a scale of 1 – 10, I like to talk on the phone at about a 5.  I really do not enjoy long, long phone conversations for the most part.  Sometimes, I do enjoy them if I am catching up with someone who I have not talked to in a while.  Overall, I prefer email and text messages to phone calls.

Name a charitable organization to which you have donated (or would like to).
I have donated to the United Methodist Church and to one of my colleges, Reinhardt College.  Mr. Right and I met at Reinhardt and my parents did as well so it holds a special place in our hearts.
While political organizations are not thought of as “charitable” Mr. Right and I have donated to these in the past and to specific candidates.  We think it is important that the right people get elected and like to do what we can to help them when we are able.

Main Course

What is a food you like so much you could eat it every single day for a month?
I could probably eat chips and salsa every day for a single month and not get sick of it.  Also, I like to drink milk and usually have a cup at least 1 time a day.

Have you or anyone in your family had the flu this year?
Yes.  We have been affected by the flu.  You can read about it affecting my family and also another family we know who wound up in the hospital because of it.  If you get it, rest and recover.

Please leave a comment if you stop by my blog so I can be sure to check out your blog.  If you have not done so already, be sure to check out this week’s other Friday’s Feast participants.

Here is this week’s Friday Fill-In.

1. Ahhhh, it’s so nice to wake up on a Saturday morning with no obligations, hear rain pitter pattering on the roof, and roll over to go back to sleep. When I was in college I worked at Radio Shack. Every single Saturday morning we had a sales meeting at 8:00 AM even if our shift did not officially start until later in the day. When I began my career after college, I realized rolling over on a rainy, dreary Saturday morning to go back to sleep was one of my favorite luxuries and it does not even cost any money!
2. One of my favorite things on my desk or bureau is my picture of my family.

Jefferson Memorial Cherry Blossoms

3. Japanese Cherry Blossom I would love to visit Washington D.C. to see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. The Jefferson Memorial is my favorite memorial. I have visited at dawn, dusk, daytime, and late night but I have never visited it when the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. As a bit of trivia, these trees were a gift from Japan in 1912. It might be fun to be there for the 100th anniversary of the the gift giving.
4. My bed is my favorite place to sit and read.
5. Peanut Butter and chocolate is delicious!
6. I love to watch Drew Barrymore in movies.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching Celebrity Apprentice and Lipstick Jungle on tivo with Mr. Right, tomorrow my plans include taking the children to the neighborhood pool and Sunday, I want to plan my activities for next week and write 3 blog posts!

Please leave a comment if you stop by my blog so I know who visited. I am always curious as to who visits my blog. If you have not done so already, be sure to check out this week’s other Friday Fill-In participants.

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!!

It’s Blog Party Week in Blogland! Welcome to my Party! Thanks for Visiting!!

Since this is a blog party, we need to kick this party off with the most important part: FOOD! Everyone loves food. Let’s have some! If you were here, I would cook some of these good (if I do say so myself) recipes for you:

An Evening with Friends Party Food

Game Night with Your Family Party Food

Saving the Best for Last, Dessert Party Food

Now that you are fat and happy, sit back, enjoy, and learn a little bit about my family, my blog, and me.

My college sweetheart and I were happily married 15 ½ years ago. We are still happy! I affectionately call my husband Mr. Right on this blog. He is the “right” man for me. Always has been. Always will be. He is often right about all sorts of trivia and useless useful information. He is politically right of center. He keeps God in the right place in his heart. While he is not technically right all the time, he is right most of the time and that is right for me.

We have boy girl twins (BusyBoy and GigglyGirl) who will be 5 in a few weeks. BusyBoy is all boy. He is always on the move, plays hard all day long, and is quite imaginative. Even though he is a rambunctious boy, he is also our “sweet baby boy” with a tender heart. GigglyGirl loves to talk and laugh and talk and talk and talk. She giggled when she heard I call her “GigglyGirl” on the blog. She loves her dolls, her art supplies, ballet, and princesses. She makes us laugh and our hearts smile.

In addition to my family, I love God. My father is a United Methodist minister. My parents taught me how to have a close relationship with God and I have done so my whole life.

I used to be a stay at home mom. Last year I transitioned into the role of work at home mom after my husband closed his company. I do political consulting and constituent services. I love to read but have yet to put any book reviews on my blog. I read an average of one book a week. While I do my best to keep up with the laundry, I really do not like it because it is a never ending Sisyphean Task. (Sisyphean, that’s one of those useless useful words Mr. Right taught me.) I hate this year’s flu and what it has done to my family and friends.

Ok, I hope these links give you a taste of who I am. Stick around for awhile. You can navigate JenuineJen by selecting a category, most popular post, and/or recent posts on the right. You can also learn more about me on my 100 Things about JenuineJen page. Oh, and if you have any recommendations for moving my blog to its own domain and redesigning blogs, I would love to hear your comments. Thanks!!

If you have made it to the end of this post, thank you again for visiting!! Leave a comment to let me know what you think. Be sure to leave a link to your blog so I can check it out as well.

Finally, be sure to check out all the other parties at 5 Minutes for Mom! It should be a fun-filled party week.

I am very interested in moving my wordpress.com blog to its own url.  I am also interested in coming up with a much more attractive blog design.  So, for this week’s Backwards Works for Me Wednesday I have some questions about this.

  1. What is the process to backup and restore my wordpress.com blog to its own url?
  2. How can (or can I) redirect traffic from the wordpress.com blog to the new url to maintain the incoming links and traffic?
  3. If you have your own url, who do you use for your web hosting service? Are you satisfied with the service? Why or why not?
  4. Have you had your site professionally redesigned? If so, who did you use? Were you satisfied? Why or why not?
  5. If you did not have your site professionally designed, did you modify a template and how did you go about designing your own site?
  6. Is it possible to
  7. Do you have any other advice as I (hopefully) embark on this?

Thank you so much for your help in answering my questions!!

To help others by giving your advice, visit Shannon’s site to see the other Backwards Works for Me Wednesday bloggers.
